Over the last 40 years, THE SORBARA GROUP has concentrated its efforts in the industrial real estate sector as a builder, owner and manager. In the 1960's the Group developed Canada's first multiple industrial building in the former City of Scarborough. In the early 1970's the Group was one of the pioneers of the industrial condominium buildings in Canada with a Mississauga project. In the late 1980s, THE SORBARA GROUP brought the words "Power Centre" to the GTA. In the 1990s, THE SORBARA GROUP developed "BREWERY LOFTS", arguably Toronto's most successful residential loft conversion. It also opened "THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLIN" which has become the model community for lowrise development. This project is ongoing with 750 sales to date. The complete project will house almost 10,000 persons.
Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, THE SORBARA GROUP owns/manages over 6.5 million square feet of industrial and commercial space as well as rental residential projects and some retail space.
Current projects include an industrial commercial project - CORPORATE BUSINESS PARK - at Highway 427 and Highway 7 and a new 600-home community in Oakville that will be built by ORCHARD RIDGE HOMES.
